The Dying Falls are Mark VanMiddlesworth, Daniel Thorn and J. Matthew Axten.

Founded in 2011 when Matt started recording some of his songs with producer/engineer/sonic hedgehog Mark, The Dying Falls became a full band in 2012 with the addition of Dan on bass and other instruments.

Bonding over a shared enthusiasm for 80s New Wave, 60s girl groups, Delta blues, and caffeine, the Dying Falls play music that is at once literate and danceable, energetic and introspective. Picture Albert Collins jamming with Edwyn Collins, or a happier Ian Curtis singing lead for the Ronnettes - knotty, bluesy guitar leads locking in with hooky, New Order-esque basslines, rave-up synths, and driving drum machine beats.

In February 2012, the band released its first record, "Driftwood", online. They have since appeared at venues throughout Cambridge and performed live on local radio shows including WMBR's Pipeline! and WHRB's Record Hospital. The Dying Falls look forward to bringing their show to a venue near you.
