Ghostt Bllonde / The Pilgrims – Home & Home Split 7″ Coming This Summer On Negative Fun Records

via Negative Fun Records

“We’re excited to finally be able to announce the second installment of our “Home & Home” split 7″ series. The 2014 edition will feature a pairing of Raleigh, NC’s Ghostt Bllonde with Windsor, VT’s The Pilgrims. While our first entrant in the Home & Home series was an exercise in post-rock, post-hardcore and noise-pop, Ghostt Bllonde and The Pilgrims each offer an impassioned take on power-pop and garage-rock.

Ghostt Bllonde have been on some kind of run. In just over twelve months, this Raleigh band formed, played a series of increasingly manic house shows, and self-released a digital LP before capping their first year together with a headlining celebration at Kings Barcade, a Raleigh institution. Since then, this band of young upstarts have been hard at work on their debut seven-inch vinyl release, putting the finishing touches on an odds and ends demo collection to be released on our Antiquated Technology cassette imprint and even found the time to tour the East Coast in between winter storms. We are looking forward to committing Ghostt Bllonde’s fifties inspired fuzz-pop to vinyl for the first time.

The Pilgrims have quietly become one of our favorite bands here at Negative Fun HQ (North and South). Last year this Windsor, VT quartet released their second LP “Bu$$” which made both Jon and Chris’ best of the year lists, as well as earning the band a nomination from the New England Music Awards as the best band in Vermont. This is ramshackle guitar rock in the Westerberg tradition. Need a modern touchstone? Well, The Pilgrims fall somewhere in between the power pop of Sweet Talk and seventies southern rock of The Golden Boys. In the midst of all this rocking, a few members of The Pilgrims also help to maintain the vibrant What Doth Life musicians collective.

Anticipate a late summer release for what will clearly be a perfect warm weather pop-single. We’ll be sure to include a digital download for all necessary jamming of said tunes in the car, on the beach or on the porch with a few cheap domestics.”
